The sounds of music filled Poulton Community Hall on Saturday 27th June 2026 as Thornton Cleveleys Band were invited by the Capricorn Singers to provide an evening of entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite the heat, the concert was a success, with the audience enjoying a varied programme showcasing the talents of both the choir and the band, as well as several exciting joint performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The evening opened with the Capricorn Singers performing \u201cSeal Lullaby\u201d and \u201cOnly You\u201d, setting a beautiful tone for the concert. Thornton Cleveleys Band then took to the stage with a selection of pieces including \u201cImperial Echoes\u201d, \u201cMen of Harlech\u201d, \u201cBreezin\u2019 Down Broadway\u201d and \u201cKorobeiniki\u201d, demonstrating the band\u2019s versatility and musical energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first half also featured choir performances including \u201cOne Night Only\u201d, before both groups joined forces for a lively ABBA Medley, bringing the first half to a spectacular close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following a short interval and some gorgeous home-made cakes, the band entertained the audience with favourites including \u201cArnhem\u201d, \u201cJesus Good Above All Other\u201d, \u201cSinging in the Rain\u201d and \u201cBring Me Sunshine\u201d. The Capricorn Singers delighted the crowd with \u201cSongbird\u201d, \u201cHarry\u201d, \u201cIt\u2019s Raining Men\u201d and \u201cWhy We Sing\u201d, highlighting the strength and variety of the choir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The evening reached its finale with a rousing joint performance of the \u201cLes Mis\u00e9rables Selection\u201d, bringing together the full power of band and choir in a fitting end to a fantastic concert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
